Koridor Privacy Notice
Last updated: May 2026
1. Who we are
Koridor Trade Intelligence LLC ('Koridor', 'we', 'us') provides freight forwarders with trade tools through WhatsApp, including HS code classification, duty estimates, document checklists, and shipment tracking. This notice explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at martin.scanlon@kori-dor.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect the information you choose to send us, which may include your name, your company name, your WhatsApp phone number, and the shipment details in the messages, invoices, product descriptions, and documents you submit. Shipment details can include shipper and consignee names, commodities, values, weights, origins, and destinations.
3. How we collect it
We collect data directly from you when you message our WhatsApp number, send invoice images or PDFs, send product descriptions, or use any Koridor feature. We do not buy your personal data from third parties.
4. Why we use your data
We use your data for two purposes. First, to provide the service: classifying your goods, estimating duties, generating document checklists, tracking shipments, and responding to you. Second, in anonymised and aggregated form only, to produce trade corridor intelligence that we may share with or sell to third parties such as cargo insurers, trade finance banks, and commodity traders.
5. What 'anonymised and aggregated' means
Before any data is used to produce corridor intelligence for third parties, it is anonymised and combined with data from many other shipments. Anonymised means personal identifiers are removed so the information cannot be traced back to you, your company, or your clients. What is shared is statistical and corridor-level, never your individual records.
6. Our legal basis
We rely on your consent, which you give when you first agree to use Koridor and which you can withdraw at any time. We process and handle personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
7. International transfer
Some of the third parties who receive anonymised corridor intelligence are located outside Kenya. Because the information shared with them is anonymised and aggregated, it does not identify you. Where any transfer of personal data outside Kenya is involved, we apply the safeguards required by Kenyan law.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and for our legitimate business records. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it so you can no longer be identified.
9. Your rights
You have the right to be informed about how your data is used, to access the data we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, to object to certain uses, and to ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent at any time by replying WITHDRAW to our WhatsApp number, which stops further processing. To exercise any of your other rights, email us at martin.scanlon@kori-dor.com and we will respond.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. If a data breach occurs that creates a real risk of harm, we will act in line with our obligations under Kenyan law.
11. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Koridor grows or as the law requires. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
